What is phenyl methyl ketone used for?
A colourless, crystalline ketone with an odour of bitter almonds, C6H5COCH3, m.p. 20°C. It is made by treating benzene with ethanoyl chloride in the presence of aluminium chloride. It is used as a solvent and in making perfumes.
