The previously mentioned acarina were the mites, chewing, and blood sucking. The mites move over the skin feeding on hair, skin scales, and other debris. Some of them burrow beneath the skin, others suck blood. It is these activities that cause skin irritation with the accompanying symptoms of “mange” and “canker”.
