What are accentuators in histopathology?
e.g. Ammonium and Potassium alum for hematoxylin. Accentuators. These are substances that causes an increase in the selectively or in the staining power of dye. Thus they lead to more intense staining. e.g. Phenol in Carbol fuchsin, KOH in Mehtylene blue.
