Zero-Knowledge Wallet-as-a-Service (ZK-WaaS) solutions, according to Pengyu Wang, the founder of Particle Network, embody the principles of Web3 and are highly performant. Wang believes that ZK-WaaS will become the industry standard and help bring the masses to Web3. Traditional Web3 wallets have complexities that can discourage users from adopting them, such as managing and safeguarding private keys and seed phrases, poor user experience, and multiple signature requirements for on-chain transactions.

Wallet-as-a-Service (WaaS) is a developer solution that integrates Web3 wallets into native platforms, making it accessible to non-crypto-savvy users. It eliminates complexities associated with traditional Web3 wallets and offers advantages over decentralized exchange (DEX) or centralized exchange-based wallets, such as swift onboarding, customization, and enhanced user efficiency.

Particle Network’s upgraded V2 of its WaaS solution incorporates zero-knowledge technology, ensuring confidential transactions, login, and other interactions. This technology conceals the connection between users’ Web2 identities and wallet addresses, providing privacy protection. It also safeguards user transaction privacy at the address level through the use of one-time, temporary addresses.

Wang believes that ZK-WaaS will become the standard configuration for Web3 application-layer products because it embodies Web3 principles, supports mass adoption, and is highly performant.

Particle Network’s WaaS solution has garnered over 15 million users in about a year. The emergence of pan-user Web3 applications, a focused and developer-centric approach, and strategic partnerships have contributed to this milestone.

Intent-centric design in wallets aims to empower user autonomy and simplify complex interactions. It shifts user interactions from a transaction-based to a demand-based model, allowing users to specify their requirements instead of actively managing every minor on-chain operation.

Web2 companies can better prepare for Web3 integration by utilizing WaaS solutions. Particle Network provides features that ease the transition for Web2 users and offers a real-world example of Moongate, a non-fungible token (NFT) ticketing platform, that successfully implemented an NFT ticketing system using Particle Network’s WaaS.

Overall, Wang believes that ZK-WaaS solutions provide efficient, private, and intelligent user experiences, making them an evergreen solution and the industry standard for Web3 application-layer products..
