Gemini gains ground in France with official Digital Asset Service Provider registration
Crypto exchange gemini has been registered as a Digital Asset Service Provider (DASP) in France by the French financial markets regulator l’Autorité des Marchés Financiers (AMF), according to a statement dated January 17.
The registration will enable the company to cater to retail and corporate customers in France. Additionally, the regulatory milestone will also give users access to 70 cryptocurrencies through Gemini’s comprehensive services, including its website, mobile app, Gemini eOTC and ActiveTrader platform.

Gemini is one of several US-based crypto exchanges considering expanding its operations abroad following regulatory scrutiny at home.
Last year, Gemini faced legal challenges from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), which claimed its defunct Earn product was a security. The company also faces a lawsuit filed by New York authorities for allegedly defrauding investors through its investment product.
As such, the cryptocurrency platform has launched Gemini Foundation, a non-US derivatives platform in 30 countries, and is reportedly considering opening a second headquarters in the UK.
Gemini said it operates on dozen EU countries and approximately 70 countries worldwide; There are more countries on the road map.
Meanwhile, Gemini will play a key role in one of the many spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) expected in the US. Asset manager 7RCC has chosen the crypto trading platform for its environmentally responsible spot bitcoin ETF implementation.
