Do ladybugs eat woolly adelgid?
HWA may be good snack for older lady bugs in the spring, but in the summer HWA goes dormant when ladybugs are pupating into adults. Once HWA breaks its dormancy in the late fall, ladybugs are already starting to hibernate again. All in all, the life cycles of the hemlock woolly adelgid and ladybugs just don't line up.May 13, 2020
