Are lupus rashes symmetrical?
The hallmark feature of ACLE is localized to the malar region (“butterfly rash”) and is characterized by confluent, macular or papular erythema lasting days to weeks that occurs symmetrically on the cheeks and bridge of the nose, sparing the nasolabial folds (Figure 80-1). Induration and scaling may occur.
